Art Competition

REGULATION
The ‘Star Angel’ Third International Festival and Art Competition is an open art event held in two rounds, created to support talented Ukrainian children, adolescents, and young people who are both in Ukraine and abroad (only if they departed after 24.02.2022).
TASKS:
● Support for creative children, adolescents, and youth (including children with disabilities and orphans).
● Presentation of the achievements of the best teams and performers.
● Establishment of international contacts.
● Proficiency enhancement of competitioners and team leaders.
● Promotion of the best traditions of Ukrainian culture.
● Expansion of the sphere of influence of Ukrainian art.
● Bringing Ukrainian art into the international information field in order to draw attention to the situation in Ukraine.
AGE GROUPS:
Group 1: Kids—from 4 to 6 years old.
Group 2: Junior—from 7 to 9 years old.
Group 3: Medium—from 10 to 13 years old.
Group 4: Senior—from 14 to 18 years old.
Group 5: Youth—from 19 to 30 years old, inclusive.
NOMINATIONS:
● Artistic art (various techniques).
● Vocalism (solos and ensembles; folk, academic, pop, jazz).
● Choral art (chamber and large choirs).
● Photography (documentary photo, fine art photography, and applied photo).
● Instrumental art (solo numbers, ensembles, and orchestras).
● Choreographic art (classical, folk, and modern choreography).
● Theatrical art (solo performances, duets, trios, and stage performances).
● Circus art (various techniques).
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:
Participants in the festival and art competition are both individual artists and performers aged 4 to 30 years, and teams whose participants are not older than the specified age limit (30 years at the time of application).
Applications are accepted up to 03.10.2023.
One composition (for the Artistic Art and Photography nomination), one work of up to 6 minutes (for the Vocalism, Choral Art, and Instrumental Art nominations), one number of up to 10 minutes (for the Choreographic Art, Theatrical Art, and Circus Art nominations) have to be presented for participation in the festival and art competition.
The works of representatives of Russian art (composer, writer, playwright), as well as in Russian will be disqualified at the selection stage.
The festival and art competition is held in a remote format; the evaluation is done by a highly qualified international jury according to the following criteria:
● Level of performance and technical skills.
● Conformity of the selected repertoire with the age of the performer/artist.
● Artistry and stage culture.
● Creativity and individuality.
● Stage image.
JURY:
● The jury consists of leading artists of Ukraine and the world (Great Britain, Canada, Italy), pop stars, teachers, leading experts in the fields of culture, children’s and youth creativity.
● According to the results of the evaluation, the jury will assign the places by nominations and age groups.
● The jury reserves the right to duplicate the winning places of the competitioners.
● The decisions of the jury are final and are not subject to appeal.
AWARDS:
The following winning places are awarded in each nomination and age group of participants:
● Place 1
● Place 2
● Place 3
The GRAND PRIX is awarded by the jury to one of the nominees of the ‘Star Angel’ Festival and Art Competition for exceptional creative achievements.
Prizes:
GRAND PRIX winner — the cup and cash prize (UAH 2,000).
Place 1 winners — the cup.
Places 2 and 3 winners — medals.
All participants will receive diplomas; teachers and art instructors receive credits!
FINANCIAL CONDITIONS:
All expenses for the organization and holding of the festival are financed from the arrangement fees of the participants. Other sources of funding for the Third International Festival and Art Competition can be sponsorship and charitable contributions of partners, patrons, individuals and legal entities.
One-time arrangement fee for one number/work/composition:
1. Soloists/artists, photographers — UAH 300.
2. Small groups (up to 8 participants) — UAH 250 per person.
3. Ensembles (up to 24 participants) — UAH 230 per person.
4. Large groups (25 and more) — UAH 200 per person.
The arrangement fee for the second number is paid at a discount of 50%.
Preferential categories of orphans and disabled people participate in the festival and art competition free of charge, if they provide copies of relevant documents verifying the social status of the persons.
Preferential categories of children of combatants and representatives of multiple children families participate in the festival and art competition at a discount of 50%, if they provide copies of relevant documents verifying the social status of the persons.
Part of the fees will be used to finance the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and orphanages in Kyiv and Cherkasy Cities.
